Thank you Ryan Hall
🏉 A SUPER LEAGUE GREAT. AN ENGLAND LEGEND. A CAREER THAT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
From everyone at Super League Raw, we would like to pay tribute to Ryan Hall, following the announcement of his retirement from playing rugby league after an extraordinary career spanning two decades.
Some players leave their mark on the game. Others become part of its history. Ryan Hall has done both.
With more than 540 appearances, over 250 career tries and a trophy cabinet that reflects his outstanding contribution, Hall has been one of the defining players of the Super League era. A winger with devastating finishing ability, remarkable longevity and an incredible appetite for the biggest occasions, he has thrilled supporters, tormented defences and delivered moments that will live long in rugby league folklore.
His achievements with Leeds Rhinos helped define a golden era for the club, including Grand Final glory, a World Club Challenge triumph and that unforgettable 2015 season. His Challenge Cup final performance against Castleford in 2014, earning him the Lance Todd Trophy, was another reminder of his ability to rise to the occasion when it mattered most.
But Ryan Hall's legacy extends far beyond Headingley.
His move to the NRL with Sydney Roosters, his time with Hull KR and his return to Leeds demonstrated a determination to keep competing at the highest level. And whenever he pulled on an England shirt, he carried the pride of a nation with him. As England's all-time leading try-scorer, his international record stands as a remarkable testament to his class and consistency.
Yet perhaps one of the most impressive aspects of Hall's career is not simply the tries, trophies or records. It is the longevity, professionalism and humility with which he has gone about his business. To sustain excellence over 20 years in such a physically demanding sport is an achievement that deserves enormous respect.
There is something fitting about Ryan bringing his playing career full circle at Headingley, in front of the supporters who watched him grow from a young talent into one of the game's most celebrated figures.
He may be hanging up his boots, but his connection with rugby league is far from over. His next chapter with Leeds Rhinos will allow him to continue contributing to the club and the sport he has given so much to.
Ryan Hall has inspired teammates, entertained generations of supporters and helped create memories that will be passed down through rugby league families for years to come.
The tries will be remembered. The trophies will be celebrated. But the legacy of a player who gave 20 years of his life to our great game will endure long after the final whistle.
Ryan, thank you for the memories, the moments and the magnificent service you have given to rugby league.
From all of us at Super League Raw, congratulations on an outstanding career, and every success in the next chapter.
You have earned your place among the greats of Super League. Enjoy every moment of your retirement, Ryan Hall. Rugby league salutes you. 👏🏉
