It's Official - Sam Lisone Signs for Hull FC from the 2026 Betfred Super League Season

Hull FC fans will be doing cartwheels of joy as they welcome the mighty Sam Lisone for the 2026 Betfred Super League! This 31-year-old Kiwi powerhouse is packing his bags and moving from Leeds Rhinos to join John Cartwright’s squad on a two-year adventure, calling the MKM Stadium home until the end of 2027.

Lisone, who has stamped his mark with the New Zealand Warriors and Gold Coast Titans, and even flaunted his skills internationally for Samoa, is the first new feather in the Airlie Birds' cap for the 2026 season.

Boasting over 200 senior matches and becoming a Rhinos staple since 2023, Lisone is all set to beef up the FC pack with his size and power. Though not famous for his try-scoring antics, 2025 has been a touchdown bonanza for him, with seven tries, channeling his inner Herman Ese’ese!

A beloved figure at Headingley, Lisone is heading west to team up with his mate Ese’ese, who’s already committed to a long-term gig until 2029.

On joining the Black & Whites, Lisone shared, “I’ve chatted with Herman and John Cartwright, and they were super keen on having me. The Hull fans are crazy loud, and I'm buzzing to hear them roar!”

Meanwhile, Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, Gareth Ellis, is over the moon, saying, “Sam’s our big-ticket star for 2026! He’s bringing in not just brawn but also a top-notch personality. He’ll be a leader on and off the pitch, and I’m sure the Faithful will adore him!”
