Hull FC come from behind again to take the spoils at Wakefield trinity in the Betfred Super League

Wakefield Trinity 12 - 16 Hull FC

Another thrilling contest unfolded at Belle Vue, where Hull FC demonstrated resilience to secure a victory over Wakefield Trinity. Trinity will undoubtedly reflect on this match, much like the Huddersfield Giants did at the John Smith's Stadium, lamenting opportunities lost due to three disallowed tries, which were correctly ruled out. Meanwhile, the Airlie Birds currently occupy third place, having amassed 7 points from a possible 10, showcasing commendable performances that has captured the attention of the entire Super League.

Wakefield Trinity

Everyone at Wakefield will be disappointed from the chairman , Powell the players and us the fans.

But look it’s a new youngish squad learning every day.

It’s a team apart from the St Helens game has given a good account of themselves. So let’s all stay positive it’s still early and let’s keep backing the lads. 🔴⚪️🔵.

Great game to watch and the pre match build up is brilliant, fireworks etc! Our club is pushing to be the best match day experience in the league….. onto the game….. small margins tonight. We had some tough calls but when you’re on top you have to score and put the game to bed.

Very close game and the winning Hull try was class, really enjoyed the whole experience, sad about the result but it could have gone either way. Paul Howard

Great effort from our lads tonight. From where I was sitting had some unlucky calls (if only we could watch rerun on tv) and made a few daft errors but played some great stuff too. Keep going Trin. 💪👏👏❤️🤍💙⚜️ Jackie Joeydee Barrick

Hull were there for the beating tonight. Unfortunately we just weren't clinical enough. Too many silly errors/knock ons in good attacking positions which gifted them. Plus, towards the end we were well out of steam. We learn from it & move on. We have got the makings of an exceptional team. Tony Littlewood

Sometimes you’ve got to win ugly and that’s what we did tonight, great effort from the lads to not play that great and still hang in there and get the 2 points, team spirit and will to win is pretty special 👏👏🖤🤍

Looked absolutely spent with two interchanged to manage for 40 mins

But the heart on the team this year

They just keep turning up for each other

Great result

The Final Word

Another impressive performance on the field, coupled with a packed audience, underscores why Trinity should not be underestimated this year and could emerge as a formidable force in the future. Their first-half performance was commendable, and with improved discipline on the edges receiving Oliver Russell's kicks, they might have secured a victory. Leading up to the game, much attention was given to the absence of Max Jowitt; however, Josh Rourke stepped in and delivered an outstanding performance at full back, doing no harm in positioning himself to retain the starting role upon Jowitt's return.

With four points accrued in Super League and a Challenge Cup quarter-finals appearance secured, the only element still absent is a home victory in the Super League for their devoted supporters, which surely cannot be far off. Their next challenge will be a match against the high-performing Leigh Leopards at the LSV, serving as a precursor to their upcoming confrontation in the Challenge Cup at Belle Vue on Friday, April 4th, with kickoff scheduled for 8 PM. Overall, Trinity is performing exceptionally well.

Hull FC once again showcased their resilience, managing to secure victory against the odds. The early loss of Cade Cust was a significant setback for the team, which might have demoralised them in previous seasons. However, Jordan Rapana stepped up admirably, while Aidan Sezer appeared to relish the challenge of orchestrating a win for FC single-handedly. His pass to Chamberlain was masterfully timed, while his delicate grubber for Lewis Martin to secure the winning try was nothing short of divine. On this form, Sezer is a strong contender for the Man of Steel award. As for Hull FC, they currently occupy a favourable position in the playoff standings, and it remains to be seen whether they can maintain their place.
